Description
An original ink on cartridge paper artwork by Marco Agosta, framed in oak.
Marco Agosta is a Melbourne-born, Sydney-based artist whose work explores the intersections of esoteric symbolism, mythology, and our existence in time and space. Growing up surrounded by creative outlets, Marco developed an early appreciation for artistic expression, eventually channelling this energy into a successful 15-year career as a fashion designer.
In 2014, he began exploring his visions through painting, blending a deep interest in the human narrative with dream imagery. A defining moment in the artist's journey came in 2015, when a series of vivid dreams inspired the use of a signature blue colour — a hue that continues to serve as a pivotal symbol in his work. The deep, saturated ultramarine recalls the intensity of Yves Klein's iconic International Klein Blue, carrying a similar sense of the infinite and the immaterial, though rendered here entirely in ink rather than pigment. With a deep interest in the metaphysical, Marco uses his paintings to tell stories, invoking a dialogue between ancient symbols and the present-day experience — radical line work that explores and reflects the chaos and order in the grand design of the world.
Through intricate layers of singular colour and form, his work invites viewers to reflect on humanity's place in the universe, offering a visual language that transcends time and space.
This is edition 3 of 3. Ink on cartridge paper, framed in oak, measuring 30.5cm x 25cm from the outside edge of the frame.
